
HISTORY OF THE COUNCIL
After the Local Government Law was enacted on July 4th, 1947, three local councils served between 1952 and 1961. The local council was dissolved in 1961, and the election of municipal assemblymen was reestablished March 25th, 1991 after nearly a thirty-year absence.
